Sourced from Soldertec
Counterfeit Component Detection Service
Release date: 17 Mar 2008

Materials test house Soldertec Global and PCB Repair / Components test specialists Retronix have announced that they have formed a strategic alliance partnership to support the high reliability electronics manufacturing base in Europe. Access to the combined test services is seen to benefit both parties whilst not deflecting from their individual strengths.

Joe Tumilty, Director of European Operations comments “This strategic partnership meets the needs from our military and high reliability customer base for an ever demanding electrical test capability coupled with a greater understanding of the materials used in electronic assemblies. The partnership is well equipped to investigate issues such as counterfeiting and environmental compliance that neither party could do alone.”

“The opportunity for Soldertec Global to enter the European market with services proven in the UK through access to the existing partnerships built up by Retronix over many years is irresistible” says Soldertec Global Marketing Manager Tom Perrett. “We see our knowledge in materials testing and failure analysis complimenting and enhancing those of Retronix in electrical testing and high quality repair.”

Retronix was founded in 1992, and since then has grown to the multi national company it is now, represented in the Americas, Europe & Asia, in both the PCBA & semiconductor arenas. In recent years it has opened facilities in Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and Zhuhai in China. The new partnership with Soldertec Global is also seen to benefit these more distant parts of the Retronix business in that these sites now have fast track access to advanced analytical techniques not always available locally.

Customers can contact Joe Tumilty at Retronix on 01236 433345 (joe.tumilty@retronix.com) or Tom Perrett at Soldertec Global on 01727-875544 (tom.perrett@tintechnology.com)
